We collect as little as possible. No advertising, no tracking pixels, no third-party scripts beyond the bare minimum required to serve the site.
What we collect
Server logs record the URL, the referring page, the user agent, and the IP address truncated to the first three octets. These are retained for 14 days for abuse mitigation and then deleted.
When you email us, we keep the message and the address for as long as the correspondence is active — typically under 90 days for editorial enquiries. Corrections correspondence is retained alongside the published correction notice.
What we don't collect
We do not run advertising trackers. We do not run third-party analytics that fingerprint visitors. We do not sell any data. We do not place non-essential cookies; the site functions without any.
Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to request access to any personal data we hold about you, to request correction or deletion, and to object to processing. Send any such request to privacy@writeoffcars.co.uk — we respond within one calendar month per the regulation.
Changes
Material changes to this notice are dated and announced on the page. The current version of this notice was last reviewed in May 2026.
